AI in the portal

Master AI lives under AI in the business portal. Bindings power inbox replies on WhatsApp and AppChat, and Automations can call AI nodes that consume the same allowances.

Engagive AI vs bring-your-own

Engagive AI is the platform provider (when your plan / admin allows it). Providers is for BYOK instances you own. Attach either to a binding under Bots. Custom providers may require a plan feature entitlement.

Before you start

  1. Sign in at https://app.engagivestudio.com
  2. Confirm your plan includes AI (portal may show a plan feature gate)
  3. Have at least one WhatsApp or AppChat account to bind

Portal areas

  • Overview
    Open in portal

    Summary of bindings, provider mix, and shortcuts into Bots, Knowledge, Playground, Usage, and Providers.

  • Bots
    Open in portal

    AI bindings attach a bot to a WhatsApp or AppChat account. Configure tone, handoff, follow-ups, and which provider the binding uses.

  • Knowledge
    Open in portal

    Upload or connect sources the bot can answer from. Training runs ingest content for retrieval during replies.

  • Playground
    Open in portal

    Send test questions against a binding without involving a live customer chat.

  • Usage
    Open in portal

    See reply / knowledge / allowance usage for bindings so you stay within plan limits.

  • Providers
    Open in portal

    Owner-only: bring-your-own keys (OpenAI, Azure, Gemini, self-hosted, OpenAI-compatible). Platform Engagive AI is attached per binding when allowed — it is not listed as a BYOK row.

Typical setup

  1. (Optional) Add a BYOK provider under Providers
  2. Create a binding under Bots for the channel account; pick Engagive AI or your provider
  3. Add Knowledge sources and wait for training
  4. Verify answers in the Playground
  5. Enable the bot on live chats; watch Usage

AppChat account AI tabs

AppChat accounts also expose AI settings / knowledge / playground / usage tabs scoped to that account. Prefer Master AI under /business/ai for business-wide bots; use account tabs when working inside a single AppChat account. See AppChat in the portal.

Automations AI nodes

These nodes use AI allowances and channel context. Classify / extract / generate may consume quota; Execute step on generate+send skips live delivery — see limitations.
